What information to exchange after a crash
The details you need from the other driver, and what you should share.
You'll need these details for any claim. Photographing documents is faster and more accurate than writing.
Get from each driver
- Full name and phone number
- Driver's license number and state
- Insurance company and policy number
- Vehicle make, model, color and license plate
- Vehicle owner's name, if different from the driver
Also note
- Date, time and exact location
- Police officer's name, badge number and report number
- Witness names and phone numbers
- Weather and road conditions
