When to consider legal help
Situations where talking to an attorney may be worth it.
Many simple property damage claims are handled without a lawyer. Some situations are different. We don't refer people to lawyers, but these are common signs that legal advice may help.
Consider it when
- Anyone was seriously injured
- Fault is disputed or you're being blamed
- The insurer denies the claim or delays without explanation
- A settlement offer for injuries arrives quickly and you're unsure of your future medical costs
- Multiple vehicles, a commercial vehicle or a government vehicle is involved
Finding help
Your state bar association runs a lawyer referral service, and many attorneys offer free initial consultations. Ask about fees in writing before agreeing to anything.
Educational information, not legal or insurance advice. Laws and policies vary by state; your policy controls. Road Protect is not an insurer, adjuster or law firm and takes no referral fees.
